For my series "Nature in Threads", I create abstract compositions by photographing strands of thread with the camera's multiple exposure functions using my in-camera weaving technique. The patterns, textures, and colors found in the natural world influence my work. Observable phenomena like the scintillation of light hitting waves, the blurring effect of a snowstorm on the environment, or the ability of water to reflect infinite versions of the surrounding landscape inspire. My compositions result from translating emotions through an encounter with these phenomena, and I want to impart to the viewer an emotional connection.
