Geo-Optical Series
Inspired by the Op Art artists of the 1960s, my Geo-Optical images seek to engage the viewer’s eye with dynamic geometric motifs that create the sensation of movement and depth. I photograph colored light through stencils and masks using the camera’s multiple exposure modes to build up layers of hue, saturation, value, and shape. The areas I photograph average six inches square or smaller. The square images are rotated 45 degrees and placed on a white background.
