I want to create art that challenges the viewer to look at the natural world differently. The unique characteristics of each botanical subject are emphasized when rendered within the rotational symmetry of the mandala. Nature and geometry blend in mesmerizing symmetry. Making the work is a process of discovery, as the overlapping areas of the design form surprising combinations. Each flower, plant or seed was photographed and rotated at equidistant positions to complete a full rotation using my technique of Precise Incremental Rotation. An in-camera multiple exposure of 4-32 frames was used to create the effect.
